Create a Habitat Map: First, locate a place you’d like to map using the “search” button near the top of your screen. It is orange. Second, zoom in to find the site. Zoom in as far as you can while still being able to see the entire area of the site you want to map. Third, under the “Tool Shed” menu, choose the “First.” A menu at the bottom of the screen opens. Choose a site type that best represents what you want to map from the menu, and draw the site boundary. Then, from the Tool Shed, choose the “Second” and fill in your map with the various types of vegetation or built surfaces it contains. Then, from the Tool Shed, choose the “Third” to fill in details like brush piles, individual plants, bird baths, etc..
